Description
Champagne Grand Cru Extra-Brut Réserve Bio Maison De Sousa
LA MAISON de Champagne De Sousa, located in the prestigious Côte des Blancs for three generations, cultivates the most beautiful terroirs classified as Grands Crus such as Avize, Cramant, Oger and Mesnil/Oger. Under the direction of patriarch Erick de Sousa, the conversion of the estate to organic began in 1999, leading to organic certification in 2010 and biodynamic certification in 2013. De Sousa perfectly harmonizes its exceptional terroirs, with a vineyard composed largely of vines over 50 years old. In the cellar, the family imprints its signature on its cuvées thanks to a meticulous ageing in oak barrels. They stand out for their opulence, elegance and subtle minerality, enhanced and complexified by this refined ageing.
This Champagne Grand Cru Extra-Brut Réserve de la maison De Sousa is a real gem for connoisseurs. Composed of 100% Chardonnay, from the prestigious Grand Cru terroirs of Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil sur Oger and Oger, it embodies the delicacy and freshness of the Blanc de Blancs. Vinified in vats to preserve the aromas of Chardonnay and the unique characteristics of these terroirs, this Champagne is a true gem. The cuvée réserve is a blend of different years with at least 25% reserve wine, guaranteeing exceptional complexity. At the tasting, this Champagne reveals a golden colour with a lingering string of bubbles. The nose is powerful, blending notes of fresh toasted coffee, an expressive floral character, as well as nuances of eucalyptus and dried fruit. On the palate, it offers a remarkable roundness with notes of honey balanced by a subtle dosage. The finish is of a nice length, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness in the mouth. An exceptional Champagne that will delight lovers of fine wines.
