Champagne Champagne Grand Cru "Cramant" 2017 Maison Bérèche & Fils
LA MAISON de Champagne Bérèche, established in 1847, embodies a family tradition in the Champagne region. Their approach includes meticulous work of the soil, ancient vines, slow fermentation in the undergrowth, and ageing on lees. Their quest for the right taste translates into a simplicity in their work, thus allowing the best expression of the Champagne terroirs in each bottle. Passionate and dedicated, they strive to offer cuvées that best reflect the authentic expression of Champagne.
This 2017 Grand Cru Champagne "Cramant" from la maison Bérèche is a blend of Chardonnays from two plots, Le Bateau and Le Chemin de Chalons, between 170 and 190 meters above sea level on an area of 40 ares. The vines, which are almost fifty years old, draw their resources from clay-limestone soils and outcropping Campanian chalk soils. In the winery, the juices ferment in barrels before ageing on lees before being fermented according to the traditional Champagne method. After 54 months of ageing on slats, and an Extra Brut dosage of 3g/L, this Champagne reveals a light grey colour with a green reflection that arouses curiosity. The nose is ample but delicate with hawthorn, white fruits, underlined by a chalky nuance. Of great purity, this wine echoes the great terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. A blanc de blancs that provides beautiful emotions and that will evolve over time.
