List of products by brand Domaine Barraud
The Domaine Barraud is nestled near the iconic Roche de Vergisson in the heart of the Mâconnais, a remarkable terroir passed down through generations since 1905. Founded by Jean-Marie Barraud, this family winery has stood the test of time while remaining true to its roots and motto: "Hard work pays off in the long run."
A Family Legacy
Since its inception, the estate has been passed down through the family with deep respect for the land and a forward-looking vision. From Jean-Marie and Marie Barraud, to Joseph and Marguerite Barraud, pioneers in bottling wine on the estate, to Daniel and Martine Barraud, who modernized the domain with renowned cuvées like Mâcon Vergisson and Saint Véran. Today, Julien and Anaïs Barraud continue this tradition, introducing new artisanal practices and a stronger commitment to preserving the terroir.
A Unique Terroir
The Domaine Barraud thrives on exceptional calcareous and clay soils, remnants of an ancient coral reef that lends its wines unmatched complexity and depth. Located between the famous Roches de Solutré and Vergisson, both classified as Grand Site de France, the estate benefits from a unique microclimate.
Respectful Viticulture
Committed to artisanal and environmentally respectful viticulture, the Domaine Barraud cultivates its vines following the principles of organic farming. Each plot is meticulously cared for, with techniques like manual plowing and 100% hand-harvested grapes. The treatments used are limited to sulfur and copper, ensuring both the preservation of nature and the production of the highest quality grapes.
