Domaine Brandini
Discover the prestigious Brandini Agricultural Estate in La Morra, one of the wine-growing jewels of the Langhe. Enjoy an exclusive selection of fine wines, made with passion and expertise by this renowned house. Immerse yourself in the centuries-old history of Italian viticulture by exploring our collection of Brandini wines, available now on Athenaeum.com.
The Domaine Brandini is a magnificent adventure initiated in 2007 by a family passionate about wines, Piero Bascagno and his daughters Serena and Giovanna. Visionary, they bet on Brandini despite the relatively high altitude and facing the Alps, a climate that was not conducive to ripening the king grape variety of the region, Nebbiolo.
By dint of conviction, the two sisters successfully took up the torch, obtaining organic certification in 2011. In a 100% organic vein, a rare thing in Piedmont, the family farms 18ha on prestigious terroirs, divided between La Morra, Serralunga d'Alba and Monforte d'Alba.
In order to better distinguish the particularities of each site, Brandini offers 4 Barolo Crus:
- R56,
- Annunziata
- Meriame,
- Cerretta.
Engaging in low-intervention agriculture and abandoning synthetic products in the vineyard, the two sisters use the same approach in the cellar, where interventions are reduced to a minimum.
Fermentation is carried out under indigenous yeasts and extractions are very limited, as is the use of new oak barrels. The wines display a lot of freshness and aromatic purity, far from the bodybuilt standards of some Barolos.
Here we find the finesse of Nebbiolo at the service of digestible, gourmet and devilishly seductive wines from their early youth!
