At the crossroads of history and culture, of expertise and experimental practices, of local products and landscapes, of the real economy and a warm social environment, wine occupies a special place in the history of mankind, particularly in the Loire region, which has been conducive to vine cultivation for many centuries. In this era of globalization of trade, environmental awareness, and cultural tourism, the world of vineyards and wine appears to be invested with strong symbolic values, and those who cultivate it are the ambassadors of a very much alive heritage. Around five main themes, this special edition provides an overview of viticulture in the Pays de la Loire region.
