On the Harvest, written by Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet and translated by James K. Finkel, is an exceptional work that immerses us in the world of 19th-century Burgundian viticulture. Duvault-Blochet, a prominent figure in oenology, was the owner of the legendary Romanée Conti estate, one of the finest vineyards in Burgundy. This work, of which only one original copy remains preserved at the Municipal Library of Dijon, was first reissued in 2002 by his descendants, Aubert de Villaine and Henry-Frédéric Roch, then co-managers of the Romanée-Conti estate.
