Description

In "The Vineyards at the Edge of the World," Michel Verrier tells us the story of Clément, a young man who has just inherited a prosperous weaving factory and numerous vineyards. However, his heart is elsewhere. Clément is ready to leave everything behind to join Manana, a beautiful young woman, the daughter of a slave liberated by the Second Republic. Their unique and unconventional relationship will lead them on an incredible adventure to the edge of the world.

Despite the many obstacles in their way, Clément is determined. His decision to abandon everything to follow Manana raises questions and concerns around him. "I'm going to leave everything and go from here!" he announces, revealing the depth of his commitment. His worried mother asks him where he plans to go. "Far from here, on the other side of the earth!" he replies, with a smile on his face, trying to muster courage.

Michel Verrier, born in 1950 in Tours, chose, after studying literature, to dedicate himself to teaching and then journalism. He now lives in a village at the foot of the vineyards, an authentic setting that inspires his stories. This natural and historical backdrop provides a perfect setting for his family saga, initiated with "Where Goats Are Worse Than Wolves."
