Description

Paul Brunet's new book finally brings together all the useful knowledge about wine in a single volume

The Reference Sommelier presents the entire world of wine in a single volume. To create this work, the author combined his two best-sellers (130,000 copies sold) Le Vin et les Vins au restaurant and Le Vin et les vins étrangers, already published by BPI Editions, in an expanded and enriched edition.

The Reference Sommelier received the OIV (International Organization of Vine and Wine) 2020 AWARD in the "Encyclopedic Manual" category and the MOF (Best Craftsman of France) 2021 Literary Prize.

This comprehensive book covers all stages of production, from the vine to the table, French wines with a detailed presentation of the 22 most important vineyards, as well as foreign wines with over 66 countries featured. A complete chapter is dedicated to food and wine pairings. Exhaustive and practical, the book also addresses professional sommelier approaches to brandies and liqueurs, other beverages served in restaurants, as well as procurement, storage, and marketing.

This new edition includes new didactic tools in the form of cover flaps: mnemonics, tasting steps, tips for reading a label, as well as two beautiful maps of European and global wine regions.
