The Ficelle, do you know it? It's a legend, that of Gaultier, the innkeeper of Saint-Pourçain (Allier), who used to dip a string in the pitcher to find out how much his customers had drunk of his wine and how much they owed him.
It is also, for some decades now, a vintage of Saint-Pourçain of the year, a wine for thirst bottled in a flask adorned with a silkscreened drawing and signed each time by a different humorist, starting with Piem, the godfather of La Ficelle.
Created in 1987, La Ficelle celebrated its thirtieth anniversary.
It is still a friendly and popular celebration, held on the first Saturday of December, enlivened by cartoonists and winemakers hand in hand.
It's also a bottle of this red wine like no other, traditionally illustrated by a cartoonist; this year, it's an illustrator, Camille Besse, who had this honor: born in 1983, Camille started her career as a press cartoonist at the age of 25 at Charlie Hebdo, where she honed her skills for 5 years.
