Description

Marange Rouge 2022 | Wine from Domaine Lucien Muzard & Fils

The Domaine Lucien Muzard & Fils is one of the emblematic estates of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, known for its respect for traditions and commitment to sustainable viticulture. The plots, mainly planted with Pinot Noir, benefit from a unique terroir, blending clay and limestone.

The Marange Rouge 2022 cuvée is made from Pinot Noir, a noble grape variety that expresses all its finesse on the clay soils of this region. Cultivated on a 54-are plot pruned in cordon de royat, the grapes are carefully disbudded, aired, and leaf-thinned by hand, ensuring optimal ripeness of the berries.

This Marange 2022 captivates with an intense nose of dark fruits, enhanced by a characteristic smoky touch. The palate is rich and gourmet, with supple tannins that make the wine pleasant and ready to drink, while also having the potential to improve over the next 3 to 5 years.

Ideal with dishes such as roast duck, lamb chops, or a mature cheese like Comté. It also pairs perfectly with traditional dishes like beef bourguignon.

The winemaking is done with indigenous yeasts, including some whole cluster fermentation. The maceration, with gentle punch-downs, lasts between 15 to 20 days. Aging is carried out in Burgundy barrels, with 15 to 20% new, giving the wine structure and elegance.
