Description
SAB'S Le Gin | Alambic Bourguignon
The Alambic Bourguignon, located in Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, is a living symbol of the ancestral expertise of distillers. Once present in every village, these artisans are now rare, but SAB'S maintains this tradition with passion and precision. The estate is dedicated to the distillation of grape marc and wine lees from the best Burgundy terroirs, while innovating with a unique range of exceptional gins and eaux-de-vie.
SAB'S Le Gin is a unique creation that marries tradition and innovation. Made from a carefully orchestrated maceration of juniper berries and 14 other botanicals, this gin is distinguished by the addition of a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir eau-de-vie sourced directly from Burgundy vineyards. This step adds a subtle and original wine-like roundness to the gin. After three months of resting in a stainless steel tank, the spirit is bottled in elegant flasks topped with a distinctive blue wax.
The appearance is crystalline and bright, revealing great visual purity. On the nose, the gin unveils a rich and nuanced bouquet, dominated by juniper and accompanied by spicy ginger notes and a lemony freshness thanks to lemongrass. On the palate, the attack is lively and fresh, followed by a beautiful fruity and slightly spicy roundness. The presence of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir adds a silky texture and unique aromatic depth. The finish is long and persistent, marked by an elegant touch of spices and a subtly floral hint.
SAB'S Le Gin is an invitation to discover subtle and harmonious flavors. In a Gin Tonic, it fully reveals its potential when paired with a premium tonic water, a fresh lime slice, and a lemongrass stalk to enhance its aromas. It will also brilliantly accompany a smoked salmon marinated with lemon and pink berries, where its fresh and spicy notes will perfectly balance the richness of the fish. This gin also pairs wonderfully with a creamy Brillat-Savarin, whose soft and melting texture perfectly complements the wine-like roundness of the spirit. For those with a sweet tooth, it will elegantly match a lemon meringue pie, where the tangy and sweet flavors harmonize with the lively and fresh notes of the gin.
To prepare a refined Gin Tonic, start by pouring 4 cl of SAB'S Le Gin into a glass filled with ice cubes. Add 12 cl of premium tonic, then place a slice of lime and a fresh lemongrass stalk to perfect the ensemble. Stir gently and savor each sip.
For an optimal experience, serve the gin chilled, at a temperature of 8 to 10°C. It can be enjoyed neat in a tulip glass to concentrate its aromas, or enhanced in a classic cocktail like the Gin Tonic or a revisited Negroni.
