Agrégé in history and honorary professor of universities, Pierre Gresser is a recognized expert on Franche-Comté in the 14th and 15th centuries. Author of numerous publications, he has devoted a large part of his research to regional medieval history. He notably co-authored Le Château-Chalon, un vin, son terroir et ses hommes and Histoire du climat en Franche-Comté du Jurassique à nos jours.
In 2005, he received the title of doctor honoris causa from the University of Neuchâtel, highlighting the importance of his work.
