📖 In Vino Fabulas: a meeting between wine and comics
Wine and comics meet in In Vino Fabulas, an illustrated book that combines the pleasure of drawing and wine culture. 34 comic book authors participated in the project: telling what wine evokes for them through a story, a memory, an emotion.
From a bottle enjoyed with friends to a first sip with family, including initiatory journeys to the heart of vineyards around the world, this book offers a unique graphic and narrative panorama, between passion for wine and the art of drawing.
🍷 An oenological and artistic journey
The pages of this work take us through vineyards and cultures, from France to Korea, including Italy, Spain, and Reunion Island. Each author brings their personal perspective, their pencil stroke, and their feelings about the world of wine.
This project, led by Claire Valgrès, elected president of the Café Creed collective, and David Benito, is far more than just a book about wine. It invites a reflection on tastes, sensations, and sensory memory, while offering an immersive experience where the worlds of comics and oenology intersect.
✍ A unique collective creation
With varied graphic styles and stories of multiple tones, In Vino Fabulas aims to be a celebration of the diversity of wine and drawing. Each author has given free rein to their imagination to create a universe where wine becomes a central character, a decor element, or the thread of a memorable story.
📌 A project published by Café Creed
Since 1998, Café Creed has brought together former students of the Beaux-Arts of Angoulême. Each year, the collective publishes a book for the Angoulême International Comics Festival. In 2025, it’s In Vino Fabulas that is highlighted, bringing together talented artists around this original and daring project.
