LA MAISON de Champagne Georges Laval has been run by Vincent Laval since 1996 and is a jewel of the Champagne vineyards. A pioneer of organic farming since 1971, Vincent has developed his small 3.5-hectare farm located on the prestigious terroirs of Cumières, Hautvillers and Damery, to the highest levels of quality. Its champagnes, aged in oak barrels, are distinguished by their personality, their vinous character and great salinity. The estate produces 20,000 bottles a year on its 3.5 hectares, including 2.5 hectares of red grape varieties (Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier) and 1 hectare of Chardonnay. Vincent Lavale, at the head of the estate since 1996, cultivates Pinot Meunier vines according to strict organic principles. The Pinot Meunier vines are located on the Premier Cru terroirs of the Hautes-Chèvres, above Cumières, offering soils composed of clay and limestone. Yields are limited to promote optimal ripeness, resulting in striking tension and minerality. This champagne is produced in very limited quantities, ideal for an aperitif with wine lovers.
